Jesus Christ surely he was worth a try at that kind of money before the few niggles he was talked about as world class and hasn't had a chance lately how on gods earth have Boro managed this one.

Agree with you. Definitely would have taken him unless we have major upgrades in the pipeline.

Completely and utterly biased here because Subotic was set to play for my college soccer team before Mainz signed him. Would have him and would rush out and buy the shirt and wear it until there were more holes than shirt.
 

That's a brilliant signing for them,real coup.

Didn't start many games last season after coming back from a ACL,but Boro need signings like this especially defensive signings if they harbour ambitions to stay up.
 
Injuries haven't helped and he slowly drifted out of favour at Dortmund, but for a good few seasons he was imperious with Hummels.

For me it's a really good signing for them as if he can rekindle even part of the form he showed a few years ago they'll have a reliable defender.
