Suarez's Punishment

Of the 9 premiership games he'll miss, the only really important ones - on paper - are City & Spurs away and the derby at Analfield. If Uruguay appeal it will be on the basis of the international ban only which could potentially open the door for the RS to appeal the club side of it.

I wonder if they wrote a clause in his new contract that he would be pegged out on his ear if he bit someone/behaved in an inappropriate manner again?

Not been the best of times for Steve Peters, the sports psychiatrist used by Liverpool and then England during the World Cup. First Liverpool are totally unable to cope with the pressure at the end of the Premier League season, then England show zero mental strength in the World Cup and now one of the guys he spent time with at Liverpool gets banned for 4 months. He also did some work with Ronnie O'Sullivan this year, which again didn't end well.

Liverpool, pleasingly have no right to appeal, but Uruguay do.

4 months is not enough it was time to come down hard and set an example, this guy is a repeat offender 3 bloody times !!!

What sort of example is it to kids who look up to these players as the celebrity/ god like figures they are made out to be these days,

What's it going to take, him to do it 4/5/6 times before they give him a ban that it deserves

Is it because he is a good player they are more lenient? Would they have been harsher to a lesser ability player?

Shocking in my eyes should have been 6months to a year from when season starts

So Uruguay are claiming that the bite marks were photoshopped and the player himself is showing no remorse. Given that he's already received a 10 game ban for the same crime this one should have been even harsher because he clearly still hasn't learnt his lesson.

Will Liverpool stand by him? They risk dropping back to being an ordinary team even if they pocket £80m by selling him but how much longer can they tolerate his behaviour and missing large chunks of their season?

Large, tasty, meaty chunks?

Look at things this way. Despite not winning anything Liverpool have gave this guy three contracts and a massive pay rise and this will be the fourth consecutive season since signing him that he will be banned. It's the third consecutive season he has had to ride out a ban for biting.

But they don't mind because as long as he scores goals they will stand by him anyway.

Talking to a city fan in work he echos every sentiment that I have about the issue and how embarrassing it is for the club. Strangely it's not embarrassing for the kopites

There's about 6 kopites in my work that all want rid now. One even said the words "Cheating dirty rat". I really can't see Liverpool standing by him this time.

Satan has really been getting a kick-in lately...God has thrown in...The Gerrard slip, quickly followed by the Palace resurrection and now 'Hell's Teeth'...would have bitten your arm off for this after they beat City:)
