He'd make a good #2 to Moyes.

I wonder how much longer he's going to play though. Does he have another year in him?

I reckon he probably does, he lost any pace a long time ago but he's got such a good footballing brain now that he's a class player.

He probably would, but I'd hope Moyes would be bringing in someone with thoroughbred international experience or European experience.
We need to be bringing in 'that something extra', and god love him, I don't believe Stubbs has that as a #2 just yet.
Don't take that the wrong way. I think Stubbs will make a great coach and an awesome teacher of the game to young defenders, but as Moyes' #2, I'd hope not.

He speaks highly of you Cal as well, please state why?

He put Rooney into his boot so he didnt have to face any Evertonians.

He's a good player and seem's like a nice enough bloke Monty but i still feel abit angry at what he did in the Rooney saga.

Forgive and forget i spose for everything he done for the club.

Vim, Alan was always gutted by the fact he never played for us earlier. even when he was in SCotland his Mrs lived at Kirkby. Stubbsy is the new Labby and should be accorded the same respect(y)

even with a personal connection, monty, that is a bit ott.

Sim, quite honestly that is bollocks, that decision was made not by Moyes but by Wyness as a cost cutting exercise to protect the clubs interest and it was later reversed. No matter how strong you loyalties are family comes first

is that regarding the move to sunderland? if so, it's a major [Poor language removed]-up on the part of wyness. i sincerely believe that having stubbs in the squad for our european campaign could well have made a huge difference to the outcome.

Personally the strong rumours of him making a nice little earner out of shreks move didn't go down well with me good servant on the pitch and if he had come straight from Bolton then may be he could have been listed among the greats but for me falls short not saying hes not a nice guy ,and he always gave 100% just dont rate him as a great in our shirt(y)

To my knowledge and to the knowledge of all who know Alan that was a bag [Poor language removed] that story Coyney and he got me Shreks debut shirt for charity auction mate. The truth was Shrek idolised Stubbsy and still does, phones him reguarly. If there was any truth to the rumour that Stubbsy got a rake off from that Rooney deal do you think for one moment david Moyes would have entertained him a t the cluib, not a bloody chance. Howard Kendall tried to sign him second time round but the club would not meet the asking price and that gutted him, FACT

To be honest Monty I have heard that many stories surrounding Rooneys transfer I would not know the truth if it hit me,one fact I do know is I was told by a scouse Manc supporter that they had secured Rooney at a future date at the Wrexham game when I think he first scored,I wanted to put money on it not happening but he just laughed and said youll see he phoned me up the week he went and said the perverbal told you so incidentally he never mentioned stubbsy(y)

The man the finger should be pointed at is Dunford who left not long after the Rooney business, he was also on Stretfords payrole mate. One thing I will say about Alan in all of this, he stayed with Stretford because he got a good deal, he had been with him years. It is not outside the realms of possiblity that Stubbsy may have recommended Rooney to Stretford, I don't know, but for him getting a back hander, never in a month of Sundays Roy(y)
