Strikers

He won't get that here though. He's behind a few strikers at the club so he's not going to get anymore than 10-12 starts next season depending on injuries.

Yakubu can only do so much. He needs to be playing week in week out.

Don't forget the club were considering letting him go a few year ago as he wasn't making enough progress. He has come on leaps and bounds since then and will only get better. Sincerly hope he does get his chance as he deserves it

I agree. As I've said he's got the tools to be a good centre forward. He needs to play though and he won't get that here at the moment. Yakubu, Cahill, Johnson and possibly Vaughan could be ahead of him. So really he's 4th/5th choice striker depending on who you prefer out of Vaughan/Vic.

A loan would be great for him. He'd learn how to use his physical strength properly if he was playing week in week out. At the moment he's very Heskey like. Some games a monster and some games a fairy.

as much chance of this guy turning out as some of the ones we hanker after.

we don't need strikers we need midfielders, i would be happy to see AJ leave and bent come in, but i would be happier if AJ left and we used the cash on a class central mid. Cahill is basically a striker, with Yak, and we have Vaughn and Anichebe as backup. If Vaughn is injury free this season, i think he will become a regular starter, the kid is quality.

So 1 striker, 1 midfielder who bombs forward, 1 young player who is never fit and 1 who will miss the 1st couple of games anyway and is still raw, no we dont need a new striker at all!

Oh. Vaughan is [Poor language removed] anyways according to you but then again we have world beater Anichebe who can't control a bag of flour.

I would go in for Javier Saviola of Real Madrid. On his day, he is a class act, and is available for around the 3 million mark, or we could have a Moysie special and get him on loan for the season with the option to sign on a permanant basis. At 26, his best years are still ahead of him. Selling AJ for 11 million and buying Saviola for 3 would make sense to me (y)

i'm just saying if were skint, and there is to be a shortage, i'd rather it be in strikers that midfielders, simple facts are we only play 1 striker, and five mids, i know where i think need strengthening

I don't know if he'd come here, but if he really were available for so little he would be a great addition. He'd go really well with our midget jems! :)
