Striker Wanted

We'll have to spend dough to get a striker in that's a step up from what we have now. Negredo, Remy, Benteke, Michu, Soldado, Bony, and Drogba( short term on a free? hell yes.), showing a bit of ambition to sign one of them would be ace.

It seems like Moyes has lost faith with Jelavic like he did with Yakubu and Saha. I'd be disappointed if we offloaded him in the summer though. I don't see why he couldn't form a strong partnership with Anichebe.

I think the opposite we sell now we could get about 6 mil from some mid table side who think he could turn his form around but if we keep him for another year and he still bombs we have no chance of flogging him

Let's just wait and see where Martin O'Neill goes next and then flog Jelavic to him for £14m.

we have a first XI comparable to just about anyone in this division, our problem is players coming off the bench to kill games off against tired opposition, hernandez would be perfect for that, sadly we don't quite have the resources to take the risk on him (not that he's available to us anyway). We need a more complete all round striker probably, if not, a pacey one like remy would be good.

anyway, first option with the felli money would be his replacement - we can't blow it all on a striker, we'd be stuck with gibson and osman in centre mid all season. fer would be perfect for us from what i've seen, our own yaya toure, we need a box-to-box dembele like player for sure.

Moyes has a strange attitude to strikers. If Ricky Lambert wasn't the wrong side of 30 I think he would be Davey's ideal. Tonight Vic played most of the game with his back to goal being marshalled by two centrebacks. It would be difficult for any striker to score regularly unless we modify our style of play.

Lukaku by a long shot. I mean just look at the size of him and he is only
19 (I think). He hs huge potential, can finish, can header and seems to have maturity beyond his age. Would certainly be best in terms of a possible sell on fee.

i'd love anyone with pace to burn, creates so many more chances to score when they can pull away from the defenders and leave em for dead.

Very much this

We have a striker, his name is Jelavic. Unfortunately he was abducted and reprogrammed by aliens to be forever offside.

What have you seen? I watched him in a match against Zwolle just after the transfer fell through and he was seriously crap.

He looked disinterested and didn't raise a gallop until extra time. Only one match, I know, but going by that....

What would people's thoughts be on Andy Carroll at a price of say around 7M??
Maybe too simlar to what we got.

Ideally I'd like us to sign a Rooney type player. Someone who can play No.10 role off a main striker who can create and score but could also play the lone striker role too. Imagine there very hard to find and expensive to buy!

Couldn't afford Remy, Benteke would be an interesting buy, he's what Anichebe should be, but can't see Villa asking any less than £8m for him as he's very young. Macheda and Lukaku no chance.

Benteke would cost more than Remy mate, i think villa have already slapped a 25m price tag on him.

Don't believe he'd work in our team, we don't have two out and out wingers to deliver the ball to him, what we ideally need is someone fast over 10 yards who makes intelligent runs and slots first time. I'm thinking Linekar, Van Nistlerooy, Yakubu, Jelavic 2012.
