Street Fighter Vs Tekken Vs Mortal Kombat Vs Marvel/Capcom

I had to think about it, but I'm going with Street Fighter. The classic 2D ones from the 90's though. Used to sink hours into Street Fight II: TURBO!

Loved Tekken 3 though. That and Crash Bandicoot were the first 2 games I got with my Playstation

Street Fighter, then Virtua Fighter.

Tekken is a crappy game for button-bashers.

Marvel vs. Capcom is really just a Street Fighter spinoff and Mortal Kombat isn't in the same league.

Remember waiting in the video shop and watching people play Mortal Kombat for hours, then playing it to death on the megadrive with my mates. Street Fighter never really grabbed me, probably because we were Sega people. Tekken was PS1 and I was old enough to buy my own stuff then so I think I got a PS1 just before the PS2 came out. I never played the Marvel Capcom even though the graphics looked great. Therefore:

Mortal Kombat
Tekken
Street Fighter
M v CC

I should defend M v C if only because it's absolutely off the way in comparison to the others. I always found Virtua Fighter a bit too "worthy" to truly enjoy it. Not a bad game but I always felt that I should like it more than I did. M v C is more about mindless fun, which I like :)

The core Street Fighter 2 gameplay mechanics are still unsurpassed even today.

For all the other fighting games, amazing though some of them were, I always end up thinking ".. yeah, but it's not Street Fighter."

Loved some of the other Capcom stuff, especially X-Men and Marvel Super Heroes (though it got a bit stupid in latter games).
