Straq's last two performances

Agreed Jo, hes a very good centre forward, and i dont think hes finished getting better either. i'd like to see him extended run and perm deal. Very happy if that happened

We've definitely had worse, he's not the best technically, however he's not as bad as has been made out. He's an old fashioned centre forward, holding up the ball, bringing team mates into the game and allowing some of the best defenders in the league to bounce off of him. I think if he's given a chance in the Anfield derby he will excel, I'd love to see Stracq bouncing Carralar and GBH around. It's no suprise that we have played better once we have a centre forward who is capable of holding the ball up well.

There's no denying he's technically poor.

But I'd have his work rate, strength and desire over Saha's occasional good touch any day.

IMO, Denis is one of those forwards a top class team have on the bench and turn to when plan A hasn't worked. He can come on and change the way the line is lead and ask the opposition a different question. I think that's what we'll see when Jelavic gets going...hopefully.

Watchig him play last night gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that I haven't had for a few years since Dunc left (y) I really hope that he gets more starts and a permanent deal... he's great to watch.

Never before have I rooted for an Everton player like I rooted for him at the Fulham match and last night. Not even a 'feel sorry for' rooting, I just love the guy. Hard work is paying off, well done Straq.

Must say I think his first touch has been better than Saha's this year. I saw way to many times when Saha took to big of a first touch or popped it all over the place (Saha has a better first touch but it's all mental with him right now).

Denis is cried when he scored. Let me repeat that, he cried, full tears. He went out against the league leaders and lifted the whole team. Is he going to ever have the pure skill and finishing ability Saha had? No, but he provides a lot. I like him

That's a fair assessment. Only worry is that will anyone else lead the work rate by example when he's off the pitch. Most of the season we've been like City last night. But I guess that's up to Moyes, too, and what I understand is that Jelavic has a decent work rate himself.

Unless he'd downed tools this season to play for a move, that's not a quality I saw in him when I watched him. He'll have that shite knocked out of him if he tries to clock off in a game under Moyes. That's one thing we can rely on the manager for.

People keep saying Stracq has poor technical ability, but i really don't think thats the case. Last night he showed great vision and skill to nod it onto Fellaini he went close with that shot. Working a triangle into a shot amongst a group of city defenders was impressive. Even Felli was impressed and looked dissapointed he'd not scored. High fives all round.

Also he had a few other good touches and battled thru and earnt us a couple of free kicks. He is really up for it.

I know this lad wasn't on the world beater striker list, but sometimes gems slip through the net and onto the pitch at the Old Lady. I will support the Stracq.
