Not really atm though , as we don't have a Centre Forward , the RS would lap him up , mind you .

Think villa got the bum deal over downing. Half a season or so later citeh bought Adam Johnson for 8mill from boro

Downing is too hit and miss for me to be honest. His goal and assist record ain't great if I remember right

He's always been a decent player, but it's about consistency. He was really good against us, he tore Baines apart. I don't see how we could afford him or get him though... unless Villa got relegated (which I wouldn't put money on).

Always thought he was very overrated. Having said that, he did look good yesterday. And for England the other night he didn't look out of place in a good ball playing midfield. He'd probably fit in nicely with our team actually but not with our finances.

We would need someone to knock those crosses in though eh? Not a big fan of Downing, I think he's overpriced for what he brings. Adam Johnson would have been a great signing for us though.

Yeah we need a top striker but on downing i think his best years are ahead of him.
