A key player in a relegated team is not good enough for what we want to achieve, especially at the back

But didn't West ham get relegated with the like of Lampard,Ferdinand, Di Canio and Joe Cole quite a few seasons back? I would have had any of them even as young as some were back in the mid 90's.. can't really blame one player for a team going down, they didn't have any organisation about them and the way that club was, and is being run is a joke and they therefore played like a bunch of no hopers who couldn't give a crap about the club. I think he would be good cover.

I agree you cant blame one player for a team being relegated,

I dont mind Taylor, but I think £8m to £10m Newcastle want is a bit too rich for our blood, maybe £5m to £6m and we would do a deal.

Bassong was the one to get from Newcastle's central defenders, Taylor is of course better than Cacapa or Coloccini, but not good enough for what we need. He's also expensive and quite loyal to his home team. Waste of time.
