A key player in a relegated team is not good enough for what we want to achieve, especially at the back
Erm, key player, relegated team, erm, thinking, thinking, thinking, oh yes, Jagielka. Bwoy we dodged that bullet, we shouldn't have bought him on your logic. (n)(n)(n)

Just say "Oh, yeah", put on coat and leave the room. (y)(y) (joke, honest, we're not the blue room)

Only conjecture not signed yet and no word from Toons of an offer made or accepted. Still wish we could afford Shawcross or Upson.

I dont think that argument stands up, due to the fact that Lescott never played PL football, neither did Tim Cahill. Jags got relegated with Sheff Utd

Atleast Taylor would come in with years of PL football under his belt along with a wealth of International U21 experience, and he has lost his way but DM has that ability to turn these players into gems

I've been reading this thread and all I keep seeing is Jag's turned out good so will Taylor because in Moyes we trust.

What about Per Kouldrup? I agree Moyes is shrewd but he doesn't always get it right. Taylor is awful and the fact he plays with Newcastle can't be a mitigating factor in looking suspect. Turner plays for Hull who are not far off Newcastle's abject quality but he looks the part.

Yeah your right. I'm well booing him if he ever plays for Everton.

Jags may have also played with a relegated side but he has natural talent, much like Cahill & Lescott. Taylor seems to be a triumph of effort over ability. He's got youth on his side so his physicality gets him out of trouble more often than not. He can't read the game, he's fairly slow and he looks extremely clumsy. Saying that, I'm sure Moyes could make him good but I'd prefer any of the other centre halves we've been linked with to be honest.

Never played in PL and found it hard to adjust, Taylor has been in the PL for years and is still young, has played in europe wiv the barcodes and wasnt his fault they got relegated. It was all the jolly foreigners wanting out. In the last 10 or so games of last season, how many times did he score I can think of al least 4, he done his best
