Everton director of football Steve Walsh is facing the sack, according to the Times.

The newspaper claim that the recruitment specialist who was prised from Leicester City following their stunning Premier League title triumph is being questioned by the Goodison Park powerbrokers.
The Times report that Everton “are reviewing the position” of £1million-a-year Walsh, with senior figures questioning whether he is doing enough to justify a salary that is “one of the highest in the Premier League for such a position”.
It is said that Walsh is barely involved in the club’s search for a new manager after his initial recommendation of Sam Allardyce failed to materialise, and there are also question marks over the £150million invested in new players during the summer.

It’s difficult to know which transfers he is responsible for but we do seem to have ended up with too many players in some areas, not enough in other areas and we are desperately lacking quality at the back and up front in particular. (Midfield isn’t great either!)

Walsh and Koeman clearly had no strategy for how these players would all fit together.

They have left a chronically unbalanced squad, and criminally left it without a decent striker.
Massively misjudged the fact that Williams and Jags are over the hill.

Walsh would talk about ‘getting the right characters in’. Well Schneiderlain is an utter coward, Keane is a bag of nerves, Sandro doesn’t have the confidence to trap a bag of cement.

In 18 months we still had no apparent style of play.

It’s a lengthy charge sheet against Walsh and can only result in the boot IMO.

No, you are pointing randomly assuming that you know what he does.

I am not even defending him here! I don't know what he does either!

Well that's the point. He's been here 18 months and there's absolutely no indicator as to what he's actually done in that time.

I know what him and Koeman did in 18 months.
