remember when Koeman went to the media and was pleading for defensive cover and a striker

That was Steve Walsh’s job, to deliver these.

He’s culpable, he failed to ensure we have balanced squad with cover which the manager declares necessary.

He prioritised chasing an overrated deadball specialist over a goal scoring centre forward. He identified a young English centre back, who is so flat footed and scared, as the man to lead us going forward.

He’s left us at a point when we have an ageing left back, who when needs a rest, is replaced by a Southampton reject right back.

It's impossible to say for definite what'll happen by February but the stats on goals conceeded, lack of new manager bounce etc suggest we really are in trouble. The longer this continues the more likely we are to get relegated and that means no stadium and potentially no Premiership for a long time.
Why risk that if it's unnessesary? The sensible thing as SW wanted was to appoint Sam until season end then look at Silva. I know he wanted a longer contract but using some of that 10 milion we offered Watford as an incentive may have changed his mind.

SW wanted Sam in on the long contract, it was Bill and Moshiri who refused that and only wanted to end of the season.

Everton director of football Steve Walsh is facing the sack, according to the Times.

The newspaper claim that the recruitment specialist who was prised from Leicester City following their stunning Premier League title triumph is being questioned by the Goodison Park powerbrokers.
The Times report that Everton “are reviewing the position” of £1million-a-year Walsh, with senior figures questioning whether he is doing enough to justify a salary that is “one of the highest in the Premier League for such a position”.
It is said that Walsh is barely involved in the club’s search for a new manager after his initial recommendation of Sam Allardyce failed to materialise, and there are also question marks over the £150million invested in new players during the summer.

£1 million per year for wrecking the club. Why does this even merit debate?
Get rid of him today.

Bloody hope so. The Everton destroyer, shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near Merseyside.

Spurs abandoned this DoF policy after Baldini fiasco if I remember coreectly. Hope we do the same thing or find someone decent at least.

Fantastic, I hope he’s sent out at Goodison so we can all launch tennis balls at him

Nah, Sigurdsson, Klassen, Keane, Martina were all 100% Koeman targets. Senior squad players he wanted.

Koeman even said Walsh looks longer term than he did, hence why Walsh went around picking up players under 23 - Lookman, DCL, Sandro, Onyekuru.

They had a list of strikers and all punted on Giroud. When that didn't happen, they all agreed not to bother getting another as they'd be expensive "inferior" players.

As for the left sided defender...they were looking for Journeymen, take it or leave it players who wouldn't mind sitting on the bench.

This is no way defending Walsh. I'm not a fan of DOF in the slightest. I'm just pointing out him and Koeman made some bad decisions.

Should be in jail this guy. An actual jail.

In fact lock him up in Rupert tower.
Rupert's ready.
