A permanent place sitting behind his pal Arsene every weekend. I'll give him credit..he has the best seat in the house ;)

Walsh has got no idea - no1 objective must of been to buy a top striker to replace Lukaku and failed despite knowing for 6 months he was leaving and getting £75m to buy one.

He's let all us Evertoninans down.

(He even screwed us for a jolly to Italy).

Give me half his salary and I'll get my nephew to find a striker on FIFA, even that would be better than nothing.

Walsh's job is to identify the targets

Kenwright's job is to negotiate with them and their clubs

There's probably a grey area in there somewhere

The Italy thing is pure crud - he probably goes abroad quite often, just on this one occasion it was photographed and subsequently shown in the media leading all the internet nerds to keep going "FFS WHY WAS WALSH IN ITALY?!"

No doubt we failed to bring in a striker this summer, but Koeman has said that by the time we got down to the 5th or 6th name on the list, there was doubt about whether they were good enough to improve the team. Who's to blame for us not getting any of the first 3 or 4 names on the list? Walsh? I'd be interested to hear why.

...so if targets fail to be acquired it's Wash's fault? I didn't know that was part of his remit. Only last week, Koeman said he thought we had target no1 (Giroud I presume) and then target no2 but neither came in. They then 'worked our way down the list' and the next targets were either unavailable or the selling clubs were asking way above the players worth.

That explanation doesn't appear to point any blame in Walsh's direction. I suspect the problem was more associated with the assumption Giroud would sign and the time spent waiting for this to happen.

Hang on, why? He's brilliant and would be perfect for our team.

We were never going to replace Lukaku with a striker of a similar level, Giroud is the level below and even though he is 31 would have been worth signing. He'd have bagged at least 15 PL goals for us if he signed, that im certain.

I don't get the ones who don't think Giroud would have been great for us. Even if only for a little while.

It upsets me that the boss thought it was so close to being done which actually meant we had a chance of getting him.

Football is a results business, the result of employing Walsh has been obvious signings from the premiership and young players but no striker - that's a fail.
Anyone can give a list of priorities, but how realistic were they? What did he do in advance to check the feasibility? (again obviously not enough).

Far to much assuming going on, we really dont know what decisons were his and what were not...i will judge him on results, which may include development of youth players...so surely have to give him 3 years at least

I find it utterly bizarre how many people take such firm and often angry stances based on mostly assumption.

It's happened all summer with the Barkley scenario and in so many other areas too.
