Player Valuation: £20m
We started 2011 in 11th place and finished it in 10th.

As you would expect, the top 6 teams easily outscored everyone else this calendar year. Man United got 87 points, then Man City 78, Chelsea 71, Spurs and Liverpool 67, and Arsenal 65. There was not much separating the next 6 teams. Newcastle got 54, Everton 53, Fulham 49, Villa 48, then Stoke and WBA 47. Bolton, Blackburn and Blackpool who all started 2011 in the top 10 had a disastrous 12 months - Bolton and Blackburn got 29 points apiece the whole year.

Our top scorers in the Premier League since 1st Jan are as follows (cup goals are in brackets) : Saha 8 (3), Osman 7, Baines 6 (2), Beckford 6 (1), Vellios 3, Fellaini 2 (2). These are truly dismal stats. The obvious comparison is with Yakubu who's scored 10 in the league for bottom of the table Blackburn since the start of the season. 4 of Saha's 8 came against Blackpool on Feb 5th; since then he's just managed two Premiership goals, both against Fulham. Remarkably, all of Baines's 6 were penalties - when did an Everton player last score so many pens in such a short time ?? So these stats highlight a really worrying set of problems, and Moyes will have to find some answers quick if Everton are going to come anywhere near matching the form in the 2nd half of the season that we saw in 2010 and 2011.

How many goals did we score from set pieces

Think I preferred watching Wimbledon in the 80s

Surprisingly Baines has put more crosses in than anyone in the league this season. I hadn't thought he was getting forward as much. So, I'm guessing this means either:

a) his crossing hasn't been up to par.
b) Saha and Cahill haven't been finishing as well as usual.
c) teams are defending better.
or d) Saha and Cahill aren't in the right place (the box) to get on the end of things.

A couple of other interesting facts:

-Ruddy has made the 5th most saves, ahead of Howard.
-Yakubu has by far the best goals to shots ratio of any of the leading scorers.
-Only QPR and Stoke have lower shooting accuracy than us.
-If games finished at half-time we would be bottom of the league.

Bad stat choice, Al-habsi probably a sh*t-ton more saves than Howard but that's because he gets shots rained at him all game because his team and defence are gash.
