This is a very daunting article, but boy does it make some interesting conclusions using statistics.

Be prepared, it's long, but fascinating and comes to some of the same conclusions we have here, and they saw them coming last year:

It will be interesting to see how 2011/12 goes for him and Everton, as the last three seasons indicate he may find himself in the negative at seasons’ end versus the m£XIR model for the first time since 2006.

Moyes is one of the better values for the buck.
 


I could only read parts from here and there. I think it really didn't analyse any statistics, merely stated what they kind of say.
I think Everton has done well with a slightly less wages than some teams below us because we've always had a thin squad.
 

And why it ignores salaries...?

I've played with models myself, but it's always the ceteris paribus assumptions you need to make that in the end makes them pointless in a case like this.
