Colin Todd for me, mainly because he was my hero at the time as I played the same position as him. Him and Roy McFarland remain the finest club centre-half pairing I have ever seen, peerless in their day under Cloughie at Derby. I was so excited when we got him! Other than that it would, have to be Kanchelskis and the invisible man Peter Beardsley! One of those players who never crops,up initially in conversations about who were great footballers, but then when someone does mention him, everyone agrees what a talent he was! Lovely, lovely footballer.

Brazilian teenager Pedro Neves, known as Pepe, has said that his recent move to Everton is something he has dreamed about from a young age.

The 15-year-old, who started out at Corinthians, moved to England with his family and joined Charlton Athletic after impressing the club in a trial at the age of 12.

After a couple of years with the Red Robins, he earned a move to Merseyside and Everton, which he has said is a dream come true.

“My expectation of playing at Everton is to win many titles, to be able to develop my football, to learn more and more,” he explained to Globo Esporte.

“The difference for Charlton is that Everton has a large structure, all the coaches were former club players, they are famous.

“So it has everything so that I can learn new things, more and more, and always evolve. I spent two years at Charlton, I did well and stood out. And that opportunity came now, which was good for my family too.

“I love these challenges, especially with a big club like this, which has great players like Lukaku and Mirallas. It’s a dream, it’s a dream that I have since I was a child.”

The youngster seems to have a bright future ahead of him, as he has been called up into both the Brazil and Portugal Under 15 squads and he will soon have to choose he wishes to represent.

When he moved from Brazil to England, Neves had to adapt to a slightly different style of football than he was used to playing back at home.

“At first it was a little different, when I got here I was watching everyone running, running… And I said, “How do these guys have that physicality?” They run a lot,” he said.

“Then I learned more and more, getting used to it, and since I’ve been here for three years, I’ve gotten used to it. I’m well used to here, but what I take from Brazil is the skills. My main characteristic is to attack, seek the goal and give assists to always help my team.”

The young striker will be hoping that his dream move to Everton will develop his talent so that he can one day represent the Toffees and Brazil’s senior sides one day.

Lineker - because he chose us over them. (Changed how we played, we won the title the season before and after he was here).
Snodin - because he chose us over them. (Got injured, converted from cm to rb, still with us).
Cottee - because he chose us over the arsenal. (not consistently good enough, helped cost us a cup win).
