Thank you!

As I said many times, I have no interest in 'sacrificing' one of the best young players in Europe for all these run of the mill footballers people in here want to overpay to get that likely are not good enough for a top 4 finish.

If we are to sell Stones, I would hope for a £60m+ bid for one of the games' top echelon.

Witsel looks sound enough based on his Euro performances, Strootman may be more of a risk because of his injury record but could turn out to be a latter day Peter Reid.

Many of the game's top echelon defenders are playing in the Euros and so far I haven't seen anyone who is a significant upgrade on Stones.

How mnay add campaigns did each of them head up mate, how did their commercial earnings compare to say the likes of Beckham,. Ronaldo, Rooney, Del Pierro, Totti?

not what you asked though is it. Of course more attacking players will have higher C E over more defensive players. you asked for some one to name one defender who was a global marking star. I gave you 5.

an to be honest terry, ramos and probably even rio would of had higher C E then del pierro and totti.

Best estimates Howard (45k) Hibbert (20k) Osman (35k) Pienaar (50k) around 150k their mate

As i have explained we sell Naise for 5m we effectively remove 8m off the wage bill we can then offer due to FPP rules

Now will explain - Barkley is currently on 60k per week, we are apparently offering him 120k per week to sign a new contract
Lukaku is on 75k per week, new contract mentioend as being 140k per week
Stones is on 30k per week, if he stays wand we get him to sign a new contract then he will want parity with barkley - so 120k per week

That is 215k per week we would need to add to the wage bill of the club just to keep existing players, now assuming we offer absolutely no increased deals to anyone else in the squd (which is unblievable really as the likes of Moris' and Deulofeus' agents etc would be straight on the phone wanting a decent pay hike straight away) - then that 215k increase wipes out all we have saved from releasing the 4 players, and 65k of the allowed yearly increase of 135k per week that the rules allows, so we are down to 70k left we can increaee wages by

so we have signed no players - just resigned deals for existing ones, we have let 4 players leave the squad, and we have now 70k per week we can add to the wages mate

we sell Cleverley and coleman for 25m and naisse for 5m, then we have made a player trading profit of about 17m which gives us the ability to increase wages by 320k per week roughly - add that to the 70k remaining and we have the ability to increase the wage bill by 390k per week

We now need a starting right back, we now need a staring keeper, we need a backup striker, we need a winger, and we need a centre midfielder and a playmaker type - just so we arent playing people out of position

so 6 players we can add on an average of around 65k per week, what you think the first agent approached will say when we try to buy his player and he looks at Ross and Stones getting double what his client is being offered?

And all this is assuming we don't have to renogotiate with existing players, a conservative setimate would be we'd end up doing a fair few contracts to Mori and del and others which would eat up apporox 100k of that figure - hell davies and dowell resignign have probably taken around 40k per week out that figure alone mate

If it helps out I will play for £70k, just an idea like. :bye:

Thanks for that mate. Point made.

May I ask then what exactly Mr Moshiri had in mind when he took over the club then and stated...

"There is much to be done and things for me to learn, but I can confirm that I have committed to providing additional funds for transfers and retaining our key players to ensure that we have a strong ore to build on for the future."

That's simple really. He doesn't see Stones as a key player to keep as we have cover for this position in oodles (Jags, Funes, Galloway, Holgate, Browning), which allows us to have a bigger wages bill to build for the future - or at least I think!!!!!

Stones' 2nd half at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi Final should be a reminder to all what a talent we have. Clueless Manager has departed. A season ago we were comparing him with Beckenbauer mate. Remember that?

Take those blue tinted specs off, people are not having a go at you for wanting to keep Stones, in an ideal world where we can just dish out pots of money and have huge wage bills Stones stays, if we have to sacrifice one of our top players to allow us to bring in bigger names then Stones seems the obvious choice - no one is talking big money for Barkley (yet) and finding top strikers to replace Lukaku is nigh on impossible hence the huge amounts being talked about to take him from us.....

Niasse fee £13.5mil
Payments over his contract
Say £5mil upfront
Sell at £5mil
Save wages of £50k
The remaining £8.5 is staggered over his contract.

FFP counts sales as immediate income whilst purchases over the length of contract....so we would still be paying off next year and onwards on the books.

Howard
Hibbert
Osman
Pienaar
Cleverley
McGeady
Kone
Mirallas
McAleny
Gibson
Oviedo
Garbutt

Could all be sold with minimal effect on the squad. If we needed to add funds then theres others to sell before Stones e.g Coleman etc etc

Other way is to sell Stones for e.g £40mil and 25% goes to Barnsley.....makes no sense...I wouldnt sell for less than £60mil but even then it would be crazy.

surely the approach i state brings in more fees and wages anyway and players leaving are replaced by kids and new signings...we have too many in th squad as it is.

Oops, Barnsley wanted more money up front (which they got) instead of a percentage of future sales, the money is all ours, Hee Hee.

It's the part about 'sacrificing' John Stones to 'bring in bigger names' you say that's not convincing me at the minute. No names we are being linked with are bigger to me. Granted that could be just paper talk, but if we decide to lose Stones strategically for a greater cause, I believe one of the best youngsters in Europe is deserving of a £60m+ bid for an elite footballer rather than 2 or 3 run of the mills.

There are no blue tinted glasses here. Just ambition to be the best.

Ironic that we finally get a rich owner, then we are held back by rules designed to keep the top clubs there. I'm sure we're busy working ways around the FTP. I wouldn't be surprised, if some sort of business deal gets announced.

DONE !
How many on this forum dream of £70,000 per year ?

Originally from the planet Zog, where I used to ern 100.00000 Zogbits per week
I'm retired now, but I would happily come out of retirement to jog around a football pitch in the UK once or twice a week for £70,000

Where you from Kev? 70k is a big wage in Britain.
