Robles
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
Besic
Barkley McCarthy
Lennon Mirallas
Lukaku

lennon and mirallas are suppose to be wingers here but the alignment is all crappy. want to see besic DM tbh, he's flourished there for bosnia and barry has been atrocious this season. pienaar can get in if he comes back good, but not sure he will. mirallas can be replaced by him or oviedo if he can't be arsed

Some games we shouldnt be playing 2 DMs, but IF we ever played 2 wingers it would allow our FBs to push on and it allows our wingers to push on while the 2 DMs cover the gaps left by the FBs.

But against yard dog teams like we faced on Sunday, only 1 DM is needed.

I guess I'm old fashioned, for all the cries of elation about us having 2.. yes 2.. defenders in the opponents box at a time... I'd rather we had a striker or midfielder in there instead.

As great as Coleman and Baines were last season, waiting for them to get from the back to the opponents penalty area is a slow way to play.
And when those two are not doing so well, we are clueless.

while everyone seems to be fit what's people starting 11 s for the rest of the season ?

Howard
Coleman
Jags
Stones
Baines
McCarthy
Gibson / besic
Mirallas
Lennon
Naismith
Lukaku

Stuck between Gibson and besic a fit Gibson makes the team tick quick forward play all the time with him
I love how you've started a thread for everyone's first XI and then not picked one yourself.

So what's the first most popular first eleven from the thread lads?

In league games, have we always conceded a goal when Gibson comes on the pitch, fells like it!

RM is going to stick with the set up and so based on this, I think the back 4 will be steady for the rest of the season subject to injury.
My preferred CM's would be Besic and James. Will never happen.

I would always start Naismith, because he is Mr Everton for this lot. Always talking to the lads before kick off, enthusiasm making up for lack of technical qualities. Give Kev and Lennon the wide roles supporting Rom, as nobody else has really grabbed the opportunity. The raw pace is needed and offers a threat.

Thanks for reading.

The Stones thing, he is a player. Sure he had a bad day last week. Many of the rest have had stinkers all season.

John Stones is the future and we need to keep hold for years to come.
