I thought Abrams did a decent enough job with the story with the newer Trek movies. I'm excited about this--there's more than enough story to make it work. I will also enjoy how embarrassing this will make Lucas' work. What a pompous moron that guy is.

This is true. For a guy who put together one of the most fantastic universes known, he sure tried his hardest to stuff it up!

At some point the story/universe reaches a critical mass and you can spin off small stories that work (new Trek, Batman episodes). The prequels simply show that while Lucas is a great producer, you can't write/direct with your head firmly stuck up your own ass.

You know who the best actor is in that trailer, and likely the entire film?

John Williams.

His music is a character onto itself. His work should be up there with the classical greats, every soundtrack he writes is breathtaking.
