I don't think the standard has risen or fallen - I think the standard is still not good.

Not that we've ever had any luck with them. Clive Thomas, Collina and Clattenburg to name but three.

At least Graham Poll acknowledged his mistake and (belatedly) apologised.

We don't get pens because we don't play for them, Lukaku is all about scoring, not rolling around like an idiot, whereas with the likes of Liverpool it is a tactic to win them. Nothing to do with good or bad refs i dont reckon.

Have to agree with most posts when it comes to us in the fact that we have not had a strong leader who will challenge a referee's decision enough that it may sway him later in the game.

A strong in your face protest against a refs decision early in a game will sway the ref to not give decisions against us but as we accept anything the ref gives they always know they will get an easy ride.

Stevie Me, Fat Frank, Tosser Terry, Crazy Keane, Loud Mouth Adams - the list goes on of who have got in the refs face, but definitely got themselves heard by ref's, so come on Jags/Barry, open your mouth and get us a few decisions!!!!!!!!!!!

They should actively recruit Academy lads who have been let go after their YTS in my opinion. I get the impression that a lot of the time refs miss a lot of the little tricks that a former player could spot.

Its a very attractive career these days with the wage at the end of it being higher than some league 1 players and a lot of time you'll be travelling on expenses etc.
