Standard Confirm and Reject Everton Defour Bid

Standard Liege director Pierre François has confirmed a €15m bid from Everton for midfielder Steven Defour.

Despite acknowledging the offer to be 'pleasing', the director has insisted that it won't be accepted and ruled out the possibility of their highly rated Captain being sold as the Belgian club prepare to embark on their first ever Champions League campaign, having failing to progress past the third qualifying round last season.

More links today form Standard saying, they are apprecitive that Everton value one of their players at 15mill but unfortunately Witsel and Defour are not for sale.

They are and always will be a selling club. The Belgian league is pretty awful, no decent player wants to stay there long term, so they have no choice but to sell them. As soon as they receive a bid they like, he will be gone. Seriously doubt it will be to us though, as other clubs can offer much more than we can

Not if Moyes takes some of that 15 million already offered and adds it to any money coming Everton's way from a possible Lescott sale. Would we bid 20 million for Defour?
