Stake Scandal

A lot of clubs need to give a damm as if a ban comes they are going to have to get real creative when it comes to sponsorship as many shirts and stadiums are covered in gambling ads.

Who's going to ban them? Sports betting is rife. As i said i'll be amazed. There will be lots of talk. But i think that will be just for show.

Gambling is a mugs game

If your partial to gambling then you deserve to be taken advantage of.

Just see what these gambling houses do to specifically target addicts to keep them gambling more whilst giving the ‘responsible gambling’ spiel on the tv adverts.

We know the games are rigged for the house yet people still do it. It’s like walking into a supermarket and betting on your grocery shopping and always ending up hungry.

I’m sure there are some that would disagree but for me gambling is one of the worst no fun just devastation it’s does to people and families.

Genuine sympathy who jave a gambling addiction it really does ruin lives
Your post seems a bit all over the place mate.

If you are partial to gambling you deserve to be taken advantage of?

Yet then talk about how they target addicts and you have genuine sympathy for addicts? But you just said they deserve it….

It's the Premier Leagues competition at the end of the day and if you want to play in it you need to abide by their rules (even though they do make it up as they go along at times and they would have to initiate a ban first) Also god help if the government get involved and start saying they don't want it because children get impacted by it or something along those lines. Even if it happened, yes I agree sports betting would still occur in some form or another phones, internet etc etc.

The PL wont ban it. The best you'll see is a token gesture of possibly shirt sponsoring. But then that will just be moved more to the advertising boards. As for the Government. Yeah those last bastions of morality. I work in an industry with Gov involvement and the contracts they issue to the private sector firms are eye watering. With so many of them non execs on the board or stacked up to the eyeballs with shares in said firms.
There's just to much money in this.

I hope it's enforced by the EU at this rate so it hits everywhere.

Currently in Bulgaria: the league is the "efbet A group", both teams are sponsored by one of bet365, Betano, PalmsBet or efbet, the stadium is named "efbet Arena", shirt sponsors are 777-bet or some online casino app, the scrolling banners are of betting companies and the other sponsor that gets their logo to appear in the centre of the pitch at intervals is another betting company.

Might appear to be something very comical but currently, other than stadiums, it's the exact same crapshoot in the Prem as well - scrolling banners/ads are of betting, SkyBet are the official sponsors of half the things, Stake/888/whatever scummy sponsor on shirts (or shirts AND sleeves, just in case you miss it).

Wonder why people get addicted, no reason really.
Its insane and totally immoral, every other ad on the tv is a "Gamble Responsibly" horrifying!

BTW are you based in Bulgaria? Had a cracking 10 days out there last year, Ravda(if you are not then this will mean nothing tho lol!)

Bulgaria is a country that suffers poverty. Here in the UK betting shops are always sited in the poorest parts of town. They prey on the desperate, the gullible and those, perhaps, who have not had the best access to education and don't understand the maths. Cynical, greedy amoral businesses.

Even if the deal wasn't that great as least Cazoo and Chang were fairly harmless (with cute logos too). Betting companies are cancers that don't even have the competence to not disrespect our club like with that sportspesa fiasco

Just like a lot of things gambling is good fun if you can do it in moderation and not become addicted or chase losses. If you treat it the right way it being rigged for the house adds to the fun because you enjoy your win over them. Its not a coincidence that so many clubs around the world have gambling sponsors theres no point in moaning about Everton doing it because they're one of the few industries that will pay the money and like it or not thats what it all comes down to.

I have a good friend from Varna, he is in the UK now has been for 8 years studied and now works here.

Had a lovely break over there, Nessebar and Ravda will definitely be going back, so much History and Great Architecture, and nice beaches too lol, such a chequered history.
Hit me up for a pint if you do mate lol I live in Sofia now but travel back home every so often :)

Statistically - yes.
Realistically - the poverty line is calculated using taxes and paycheques and a lot of businesses that pay a lot (construction, etc.) like to pay little to no tax so insure their bosses and employees at the absolute minimum while paying thousands out of pocket.

We do have poor parts of towns and poor regions and a problem with gypsies and all that, but it's not as bad it is on paper - hilarious how if you go through basically the slums they have all the new Mercedes' and BMW's as the mentality is to get an expensive car first, even if you live in a tent lol

That said, there's a ton of gambling sites/places here and most now operate predominantly online as everyone has a phone, so what you're saying is spot on - they prey on the ones who want to make an easy buck somehow (they won't with betting) or are gullible enough to believe the lies. I have friends who lie to themselves that it's okay because they don't lose a lot, but it's 20 quid today, 20 quid in a few days, etc., and they lose 20 times a month to win once and get that fix, sad really.
