Sold out every home game this season, including the poxy cup games
Sold out Roma in a pre season friendly also

We had 10k & 25k turning up to under 18 & under 21 games at the new stadium

Guarantee they put a 'Goodbye Goodison - Legends Game' on, you get at least 30k, even if the majority are just fare weather fans taking there kids just so they can say they have been.

It would also open up another avenue for further revenue in the future for games during international breaks at the new stadium
League games are nothing to do with it? I'm saying we don't really have the sort of fanbase that turns up for that type of thing, not that we don't have fans that want to support the actual team. There's a hell of a difference between people wanting to try out the stadium for the very first time and people who already go to a load of games shelling out for a 'legends' game full of people who aren't actually legends at all. Obviously. The whole 'I'd give anything to be able to go again but it's been so hard to get tickets' is just a cop out. The 2 League cup games weren't sold out - there were only 33,000 at the Southampton game - and we've had 2 youth cup games and 1 womens game at Goodison that people could have gone to (cheaply aswell) if they were really so desperate to do it.

How do you know its not something people would attend as its never been done

I don't know, but I can have an educated guess. We don't have the fanbase (either in terms of numbers or people with disposable income) to really support this type of thing. Traditionally we don't get very big numbers for friendlies etc, even the Roma one this summer which you said was sold out only actually had 31,000 there. We cancelled a cult heroes night at Goodison because tickets weren't selling. It's not a criticism, it's just how it is.

Liverpool and United have massive worldwide fanbases and loads of people can never go to a competitive game because it costs a fortune and is difficult to get tickets etc so they have big turnouts for this type of thing because a load of people want to go and say they've been to Anfield or Old Trafford, and they're also watching genuine club legends who will go down in history as great players. We don't have that many people who need a game like that to be able to experience Goodison, and the appeal of watching Anichebe, Jelavic, Naismith, Lennon etc probably isn't quite as high as watching the players that won the CL with Liverpool or the class of 92 for United etc.

I'm not saying it's an awful idea and nobody would ever go, I just don't really think it's the no brainer you're painting it as. Unless it was about £1 to get in I think your 'guarantee' of at least 30,000 turning up is way off.

That appeal would still be there after all, i would say Everton fans have more admiration and more cult hero status for someone like Jelavic than Man Utd do for David May or Liverpool do for Igor Biscan.
They had Biscan, Klavan, Spearing, Kelly, Babbel, Vignal, Sissoko, Aurelio, Gonzalez, Rieira, Dowie????, Sinama Pongolle all playing in there last legends game

An argument to say Dudek, Benayoun, Cisse, Kuyt & Crouch will be looked on favouribly

The only big draws they had was possibly Hyppia & obviously Gerrard

I looked up to Duncan Ferguson & Super Kev as kid as much as any red looks up to Steven Gerrard

As a teen i had admiration adn loved the likes of Cahill, Louis Saha, The Yak, Arteta

Now the likes of Arteta are likely not to show up, but the rest, possible.

Like I said, it's about having the surplus of fans who will travel to go to a game like that because it's their best chance of going to Anfield. I know people both locally and from down south etc who've been to those games or soccer aid or whatever because it's an affordable and achievable way of going to a game at the stadium. We don't have the sort of fanbase that can do that, you would be talking about large numbers of people who go to the game every week anyway also forking out to go and watch a few 50 year olds who they quite liked 20 years ago. Again, it's not that nobody would dream of it, just that I don't think it would be a particularly big draw based on everything I know about our fanbase.

Everton?
If they're as clueless as normal, probably no.

If the club is not running Goodison tours 24 hours a day, 7 days a week they are USELESS.

Match days too. I want people taking tours and watching Moyesy give the team talk. Seeing the players in the showers post match, handing them towels and taking their slippers.

I went earlier this year with my Grandson. First time I had done the tour for years. ;)

It was my first time on the tour today Kev, just tried to take it all in and have a good look at the stadium for one final time.

I've got 2 chances I reckon of getting a ticket for any of the remaining games and that'll be no chance and no ******* chance!

I didn't get an Everton legend on my tour this morning, was gutted. I genuinely thought once they knew maccavennie was rolling in that the whole of thr 85 title winning side would be there to give me a private tour of everywhere.
Peter Reid was saying him and the lads still havnt forgiven you over the whole Manny Fernandes debacle
