Before you get your letter together you should consider one thing: this decision comes down from the people who it falls to to make the DK decision. All correspondence would need to be sent there as they are the ones with the power to reverse a decision that they made. That might not be a wise move for supporters of moving the club to Kirkby under the circumstances.

Ok, the time has come, i think we should let our feelings be known. Im fairly sure EVERYBODY is outraged by this decision, but im going to be honest, i havent a clue how to even start this sort of thing. But im 100% sure we have some clever people on this forum and they could help. Lets get this party started.

Yes daveyboy, but take away the KIRBY aspect and this is a shocking decision. Its cost the club money and we all know the bitter reds would have got it, just like they got permission for Stanley Park after they told us no.

That's just conjecture not fact. Seriously, the point I made stands: the relevant body will be the Government Office for the North West. This one's out of local hands now. Councillors, MPs, MEPs they'll all redirect any post to GONW.

Ok, dave, thanks for the help. I mean you clearly know what needs to be done and whilst you dont agree with Kirkby, maybe you could help us with this little project?

Certainly. Send all the letters of complaint to my address and I'll post them. (y)

I believe that a significant show of support from our supporters relating to this decision brought to bare against the LCC and local MP's would bring pressure on the agencies in question. Or the agency that Davek mentions - obviously we'll need to do the research.

If its a Labour Government decision, then we can go at them. If its LLC then we go at them.

what matters is if we show a consensus of opinion that we will vote one way or another over these issues that show bias and favouritism to one club and hindrance to another.

I wonder if there had been no Kirkby project what the decision would have been? Can't help but feel that it was the Councillors who rejected the approval of the planning committee if they had not then it would not have gone up the line. Are the councillors led by Bradley displaying a massive dose of sour grapes and messing Everton about?

All this comes at a time when there is a need for more housing so the decision seems even more inexplicable. Not clear on what actual grounds was the proposal turned down.

******* council worried about building residential homes on open land when most people can't get on the property ladder and have to rent, when their own planner basically rubber stamped the approval and when ******* LFC get to BUILD ON A ******* PARK.

It's an interesting one, but bear in mind that house building has to comply where possible with the Housing Market Renewal Initiative which asks authorities to factor in the mix and affordability of housing projects. Everton's proposal was for exclusively luxury house building. The Inspector ruled on that today along with the issue of taking up green space. In other words, this may or not hae been Kirkby influenced. The fact that our CEO has exploded in such a manner and simply assumed it's to do with obstruction beggars belief, tbh. He is clearly feeling the pressure.

"Council planners had originally recommended the scheme be approved, but the planning committee rejected the plans over fears of increased traffic, extra pressure on local schools, doctors and dentists, and loss of open space."

I wonder what changed there minds! No mention of luxury housing being a problem there dave

From the begining of the Inquiry back in Oct 2008:

"The city council's planning committee said it objected to the Bellefield plans because they would lead to increased traffic movement and the development would be contrary to the council's housing policies."

In other words, LCC were doing what they had to do under housing provision in their own mission statement.

Of course, you could just ignore that as Robert Elstone and Ian Ross have and have a hissy fit over 'the council being obstructive'.

Something else to bear in mind for the petitioners.
