Prove what wrong - his evidence? The Inspector questioned his ludicrous method of inquiry: using levels of noise from a rock concert for a stadium that wont be hosting them; using noise levels from a 30,000+ attended match at Goodison Park to 'prove' that the noise levels of a 50,000 seat stadium would be acceptable.

Maybe you thought he did a bang on job, but I'd say he made a bit of a tit out of himself.

Surely any noise evidence based on anything other than an average cemetery on a Sunday morning is bollocks - due to the fact that according to the "Nay" voters the ground would never be filled - the transport is that bad that only about 12 people will get to the match - and for those that do get there the whole experience and ambience/atmosphere created by the substandard build would be that depressing that we would be lucky to raise a cheer even if we were winning every home game six nil - ergo noise not an issue

That wasn't in the glossy brochures was it?


The biggest thing, though, is this belief that a revolution can take place in mode of transport, by getting the current 70+% of car travel to Goodison down to 50+% at Kirkby....this is Kirkby, by the way, sold to supporters on the strength of 'it's fantastic motorway access'.

No, sorry mate, whether it's quoted from an 'expert' like Joe Ellis of SDG or from a 'humble blue' - 78% car usage down to 55% car usage in three years is exactly what it means. Incontrovertible FACTS.

They said something similar regarding traffic congestion when we had the Kings Dock in our sights, yet they ended up building the Echo Arena there a few years after the collapsed plans. Fair enough, the Echo Arena may ony hold 20,000 or so but its the size of a football arena. Saying all of that, us moving there was little more than a pipe dream.

The funelling of motor vehicles into and out of the Strand etc was a problem to overcome at the KD if a 50,000 seater stadium would have been there. No question. But KD was/is way better served by public transport than Kirkby is or ever will be.

Your thinking of Kirkby as is, not what it wants to be. Says in that article what they plan on doing. Instead of just reading the headline, read the article as well you might learn something

Halewood, the name of the game for EFC is to maximize revenue at Kirkby, right? You have to hit the ground running with a new stadium, right? Telling your support they have to tip up at a new venue miles away using a less convenient mode of transport isn't going to make that work is it?

That change of mindset you refer to happens over time. Three years? Try a generation.
