Squeaky Bum Time For Players/Manager ?

He can say what he wants. Wait and see if he gives his lovechild Alcaraz a new contract. If he does, it proves he never learn and blindly trust his favourite.

just because he's positive in the press doesn't mean he was all sunshine behind closed doors though. we'll never know but it's probably somewhere in between

True. It's the first real acknowledgement to the fans that he agrees this season has been a complete embarrassment though. If he'd cut his positivity crap earlier myself and I'm sure plenty of others may have been more forgiving. But the awful performances combined with the impression that Roberto genuinely believed we were playing well made me fume so much. Hope he sticks to telling it like it is from now on.

Well said mate. I think you speak for a lot of us.

I think it's 2 parts kick up the bum so they don't slack off and 1 part a genuine threat.

I don't think his transfer plans will change much whatever happens. The season is done and for those players who didn't make the grade in my eyes it's already too late.

We have about 7 I would like seen get rid. We don't have Europe so I wouldn't mind having a smaller higher quality squad for next year and at least one marque signings to show we mean business both to the fans but also more importantly our better players that might be looking else ware.

But at least Bobby is starting to talk the way we want him. We loved his positivity last season but a bit of reality also never hurts.

He wasnt talking bollox for once.

I'm not 100% sure on that. While what he said it true, whether he means it or not I'm not so sure.

So we lose a fair few of our last games, stay up just, do we really think that would lead to a mass clear out of all the crap?

It's not happened yet, so don't see why it would now. It's not like we could afford to replace them if we did anyway.

I hope he meant it. Just have doubts.

Yeah, this is quite a key point.

It's who comes in That worries me. Martinez's signings have been largely hit and miss and the squad needs rebuilding. Getting rid of carp like Alcaraz and Pienaar is alright but then replacing them with crap like atsu and cleverly isn't.

For me keep lennon, bring a CB in and keep Barkley behind lukaku with Garbutt and Besic moving in for Baines and Barry. Start developing for the future and keep the arl arses on the bench.

Do you think pienaar is crap?

Baines,are you sure ?

Baines,are you sure ?

I like Baines but I feel with the young players we have in the squad like ross, rom and stones I feel having them build as a team now will put us in good stead for the future. Baines hasn't made himself undroppable either and Garbutt has impressed me whenever ive seen him. Need him to sign a new deal aswell so giving him assurances of first team football would help towards that.

I love the fact that this is happening, it's obvious that something was said toward Christmas which saw Distin and Eto'o out of the team. Some of our lads have been all too willing to just drop back and under perform, same could be said about our manager.

What refreshing comments!

"So for the next eight games, we are all fighting to be part of the future of the football club."

Well said Bobby.

As I've said before on here, he will have learned (or is it learnt...) more about his players this season than last. A good few have let him down - get rid.

One thing we need to be careful of is that these players 'feeling the pressure' as martinez said earlier in the season, now relaxing and playing well as there's nothing to play for. We don't want to mask the mentality issue (and sorting out said mentality - whose job is that?) and go into next season in the same situation

i think that the players who have let him/us down have already done so, and no decisions should be made based on the performances in these last meaningless games. Ruthlessness is needed as far as finances will allow, and unfortunately someone will have to be sold for big money to make the changes needed
