SQUAD PROFILE: Croatia

There was a time 4 or 5 years ago when I'd fancy them for at least a quarter final. They used to be boss, now not so much.

Fun fact: a survey in Croatia's biggest national newspaper showed that 60% of Croatian fans would abstain from sex and showering if that would bring Croatia a final at Euro 2012

b)

Jelavic and Mandjukic will be first choice strikers, Olic only a sub, and Perisic I hope a starter.
Jelavic to score first goal against Ireland and 3 goals vs Spain, and then Real will buy him for 25mil. from us

I saw Croatia vs. Denmark during Euro 96 at Hillsbrough. So good. I was right behind that Davor Suker chip over Schmeichel.

Ever since then had a soft spot for them. Hope they do well.

Jelavic 4th preferred? throw him in there Bilic you have praised him since he came to us.

Jelavic will probably start alongside Mandzukic, he is in top form and Bilic wants a powerful front man who can hold the ball up

Croatia have some excellent attacking players but they will be missing their best defensive player (Dejan Lovren of Lyon) and that is where they could be vulnerable

You reckon? Would be ace if he does get a start but I was under the impression he was 3rd or 4th choice at best.

He was 4th choice until recently but considering his form and style Bilic has already said that he now considers him 2nd in line.

Not sure how efficient Jelavic will be in Euro 2012 because Everton have somewhat tried to adopt their style of playing around him while Croatia will play very different style
