Because nothing has changed in 8 years right? Saw the same 'Bale has gone, Spurs will be a mid-table team' chatter back then. Those experts could not have got it more wrong then but they all know what will happen now.

I think it is mostly wishful thinking on some people's part.

Might be better in the long run if spurs are not too reliant on one player.
Spread the money on 3 class players, the team might progress beyond where they are right now.
Players come and go all the time the clubs don't collapse when the do.
If he goes to city, that's the league already theirs next year. Hopefully he goes to united instead for the sake of the others in the prem.

If they are able to sell Kane for a significant amount of money, they can easily invest that money on other areas of their team, which hasn't got the quality to compete. Look at Liverpool for example; they sold Coutinho and used his sale to fund their defence, which was pretty much the reason why they won the league.

Around the time Kane came through that wasn't it? Have you got any once in a lifetime talents coming through the academy at the moment?

Little old Spurs. So insignificant we are regarded at the main rivals for Woolwich, Chelsea and West Ham. They even have joint sing songs about us when they play each other. Rent free.

Then you have the myriad of wannabe rivals from around the country. Most of which I don't understand. Flattering though that they care so much.
