Spurs

Completely agree, their biggest issue might be they have to be loyal to Mourinho, simply because they can't fire him. You might see the dance of Jose doing everything he can to get fired drag out for a good while.

Again, the swiss ramble has a brilliant thread on General PL finances, but the alarms are ringing at Spurs. Huge borrowings, appear to be relying on Champions League money, NFL and gate revenue heavily and they have had it all swept away.

That said, I thought they might get one decent year out of JM before the fall. Now i doubt it. I'm conscious of taking anything away from us yesterday, but that spurs performance was shameful.

I agree with most of that mate. I'd only add though, they were poor because we made them look poor. We played the same team 2 moths ago and didn't lay a glove on them, so credit must go to Ancelotti for that.

Time will tell and obviously I hope you are right, but I felt they were truely shambolic. They werent at 80% fitness wise & there didn't seem to be any fight. Hopefully, as you said that all down to us keeping them at arms length

Kane's last season for Spurs, im sure of it.

Kicking his heels with that team around him.

He annoyed the hell out of me yesterday when he decided he would push everyone, don't know who put him in charge to do that but I would have slapped him silly if he had done that to me. *That might be part of the problem why I was never a footballer, seeing I have about a 1 second fuse.

I felt they gambled on getting Mourinho. Gambled that they had an elite squad, a sort of champipns league finalist- top 2-3 in the league sort of squad and that Pochettino's lack of experience of winning trophies was holding them back. Rather than havijng to sign loads of players, they could just get a winner to coach the existing ones/organise them better.

I do think that has backfired, even before this season. The form under Mourinho last season was not top 2-3 form. He imrpoved them, but not substantially, and he got lucky with the break, as the wheels has just come off.

They look an ageing squad to me. They kept the squad together for too long and didnt freshen it up. You will generally always decline if you do that. You trade a couple of years stability for collapse. A lot of their players arne't eve so older, late 20's, but if you don't buy new players in, and just keep putting your existing ones on bigger and bigger contracts it catches up with you.

The question with them, is really how messy does it get. I don't think there will be any loyalty to Mourinho as there was for Poch.
They were the epitome of a sensible club, investing in youth and selling top assets for big money now and then. Appointing Mourinho, who has always seemed to prefer ready made players in their late 20s was a very strange move. It’s like they’ve spent years of patient and sensible practice getting to a level then they’ve just imploded in a year. Great to watch I must say. Hope they get relegated to oblivion.

Theyre in a tricky position...a bit like Arsenal with Aubameyang really. They have the top centre forward who, if they keep they can get away with alot of issues in the team.

With Spurs though they may be able to get £150mil for Kane. If i was them id actually try and totally revamp the squad...they just dont look like a 'Spurs' team and should be building on a few of their stars like Kane but seem to just not be moving forwards...more backwards, and fast.

Who is paying 150m for Kane in 2020? Three years ago ok but he hasn't been that guy for a good while.

On first viewing our new bloke from Southampton looked poor but I think carry little Harry Winks is a contributing factor.
Hope fully that problem will be eradicated in the next game.
