How can they be thiefs, i thought they paid their money for the license to play the songs that they do?

Oh right, I just thought it was social networking music swaps. As you don't actually physically own the tracks you listen to, then that is the loophole.

But if as you say that they have purchased all the tracks then that's pretty clever, because the advertising they can sell on that site is immense.
 
I think thats why there was such a big hype about it because it was allowing you to listen to music you wanted without owning it or downloading it.

Surprised they don't charge a subscription for use though, but as you say they must rake it loads from ads, more than enough to pay the license.
