Split travel advice

I went to see Stoke play Hadjuk Split in Europa League in 2011. Night before fantastic, same bars on day of game dangerous. We had the same travel advice as you lot I.e. no colours etc. Unfortunately even without colours are superior dress sense is as good as wearing a shirt. Went for a beer pre match outside the ground to be surrounded by the Torcidas finest. Luckily there was only two of us and after 15 minutes shitting ourselves we were told they were going to stab us if we didn't leave. We left. Don't complain about being kept in after the match you will need to be. The coppers have it sorted and you will be bussed into town or back to your hotel. Hope you stuff em and everyone gets home safely.

I see what you've done their. I never said I was was from Stoke otherwise you would be bang on mate. Went to the first game and are away support does consist of some right bellends. As for fashion sense you had a lad there in his Speedos! He couldn't do that at Stoke or he would probably die of frost bite! Top lad and we did give to his charity.

It must be very very hostile in there now Must be scary being in that away end waiting to leave . Bit worried to be honest

They'll be getting a police escort back mate so just need to be a bit savvy once they're back in town.

It's bloody sad that a European away-day ( or any away-day for that matter ) has to be like that these days, I'd hoped we'd seen the last of that sort of crap when I was younger, and, when we're in Europe, it always makes me sad to see fans caged in an area of the ground. I'm sure the majority of Blues will have had positive experiences with the locals over there, but a significant minority probably havn't.

But, we treated the Hajduk fans like human beings when they came here and, though a significant minority of those that came are plainly scum, it's important to recognise that it was a minority, and keep things in context. We'll have, at least, three sets of foreign fans coming over this season, and they'll be welcomed as strangers to talk wham to, because we're better than the minority of the Torcidas who are just looking for trouble.

*disclaimer ...

I've had a few beers so may be talking absolute testicles

Just had a text, still at the stadium. Well over 90mins since game ended.
They've kept everyone behind for ages. They're concerned about some Split fans still being around and possible trouble

They stayed in the ground for ages too, as my Croatian friend said, "this is a fiesta"
