WestBrom left back Poppov was shown a red card by ref Clattenberg 2 minutes into the second half for spitting at\in the direction of Walker from Tottenham-
sides were level then - after sendoff Tottenham bossed and Bale scored the beautifull winner after a possible offside - pity for us -
my question is whether the sending off was justified ? or was WestBrom Clatteberged ?
spitting has become part of the game - (unfortunately ) the two were in a tussle and argument - and Poppov gave a dismissive little spit in the general direction of Walker but missing him by miles - does that deserve a red card ? certainly not in my opinion -
bad decision = bad result for us
the result makes the top of the table(positions 2-4) very interesting from a media point of view though

spitting at another player should always be a straight red. Disgusting.

Clattenburg is still a cnut though

Remember Repka spitting blood in the face of someone like Shearer or Kevin Phillips. He (Repka for West Ham) was red carded I think. Fans favourite and all round good egg El Hadj Diouf spat on our fans and then made up allegations of racial abuse as the cause. Who was it spat on Voller (Holland vs (West?) Germany)

Only seen it on a stream but, if you spit at or towards a player in the middle of an argument then a red card is the right decision.

Poppov's spit was not aimed directly at Walker with the intention to hit him -
then hitting the air with your fist in the general direction of a player without the intention of making contact should also be a red card -
to me it was a gesture showing disgust at the behaviour of Walker and never something like the photo above -
the poor man can't even speak english properly -
players must be very carefull from now on if they dare to spit , in someones general direction and Mr Clattenburg sees it -
my honest feeling - WestBrom was robbed and the red card should be overturned on appeal -
but Spurs got the 3 points they needed - courtesy of Clatty

The player didn't to me seem to directly aim the spit at the player but he knew what he doing , if he wanted to show disdain he could have spat at the floor but he knew what he was doing and it'd have certainly wound me up if I'd been walker.

No sympathy for the red card to be honest, let's be sure as well if spurs get fourth or better (which I think they will) I'd blame a performances like yesterday's & our failure to strengthen a lot more than clattenburg
