Love Steven Pienaar, was a cracking player for us. I’m glad he’s still around the club and has caught the Everton bug now.

I think when he joined Spurs, he realised what this club meant to him, and the connection he had.
Lescott and Arteta both forced moves, so I understood reluctantly, why he opted to see what other offers there were.
But his return within 12 months was fantastic. Just wish he hadn't been cuptied, as he would have made a huge difference against the RS.

I recall his interview when he was crying upon his return. Easy to say they were crocodile tears but he was brilliant for us and although he didn’t hit the heights at Spurs he was still decent enough to play for a decent club abroad but he wanted to come back to us. He was class when he came back, was it Chelsea we played and we won? Think he may have even scored can’t completely remember but I know he had a decent game and he was excellent for the second half of that season.
