Has anyone seen the episode of Horizon which goes into about 5/6 different theories regarding the birth of the universe? It's mind bogglingly fantastic. Basically, the theory of a 'big bang' isn't as widely accepted as it once was and some top physicists put forward their ideas. One fact that stood out for me was that with modern technologies and mathematics etc, we don't know what happened before 10 to the minus 37 seconds after the big event happened. This means that we know what happened all the way back to 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000001 seconds after the birth of the universe. Before that, all modern maths and physics break down. Mental.

Some people believe in creationism so nothing surprises me lolSomeone who I used to go to uni with flat out refused to accept that the planets were visible in the night sky. Even after pointing them out and using star gazer apps and stuff. She was a bad biff.
