As much as I'd like them to they're not getting out the group stages in Poland/Ukraine.

Coleman's there though! I was hoping Duffers could make a late surge if someone gets injured especially.

McClean though has looked a better player than Coleman in the past month or so. Harsh on him.

We're talking about Ireland not England mate!

No point in fuming. Barring major injuries, the players that played in the qualifiers will go to the tournament - he'a already said that. In fact one of the fringe players will be omitted. The likes of McClean and hopefully Duffy will be in contention for the next qualifiers in September.

A few decent games in the North East can be looked at 2 ways.

An experienced competent manager who does the job and qualifies says "OK show me more and grow up a bit"

A clown in meltdown who spends a fortune and fails to do the job says " here's 35 million"

FFS Trap. Brings GREEN on instead of McClean/McCarthy/Coleman/AN Other. Poor performance with the Czechs dominating possession for most of the game. It was only a matter of time before they took the lead, and they had chances to increase it. Ireland looked lively after McClean eventually came on (too late), and it was a super finish from Cox through Cech's legs to get the equaliser. Undeserved draw but we'll take it; Trap's hotline to the Almighty remains intact for whenever we are in trouble. Hope he's paid his phone bill in advance for the Euros. Shame Duffy didn't get to make his debut, but he was only there as cover anyway. I'm seriously wondering now whether or not Coleman will be going to the Euros; it may depend on what he can do for Everton between now and the end of the season. Sort it out Davey.

Coleman is good, but out of Coleman and Duffy i think Duffy has the more potential! Really want to see him play internationally!!

McClean's looked more impressive than Coleman I've got to say. I think he's got more chance of making it into midfield than Seamie, and unfortunately Trapp is like Moyes in that he prefers experience at the back. Well obviously, when Kilbane has about 400 caps and is approaching 84 years of age.

Zinedine Kilbane still plays? Jeeeeez.

Fair play. I want Ireland to do well but I just don't think they will.

The group is really difficult but Trapp does know how to make us hard to beat.

Sadly just not losing doesn't do much... remember New Zealand in the World Cup? They were the only undefeated team in the competition but paradoxically didn't get out of their group!

Then again, never underestimate the effect of Robbie Keane. Say what you want about him domestically but I've never seen a player perform so consistently for their country. If he's fit and up for it he can be the spark we need to pull off a surprise.
