I think the Yak was fine today. His second to last effort that near shaved the post was a superb opportunist effort. He's usually cool slotting home too, so it surprised me he didn't bury that last minute chance. The point is, he gets into those positions.

That was acceptable today attacking-wise. Not great, but three good chances carved out was not bad. Saha will be available for the Derby it looks like, so I'd keep that set up today v Birmingham: Yak up on his own.

Hasn't Moyes said today that Saha is out for longer and has gone back to France to sort it out?

Can you stop it! I remember you ****ging off Yak moments after he signed. I think any football fan with half a brain knows that he's peaked, especially at Everton. I want the Yak who burst the net against Pompey, and not this attitude ladened footballer who doesn't even want to be at Everton.

I just thought he really made a difference today up front, our whole shape improved because of it.

With a little sharpness he will be slotting those chances away, it's what he does.

Who else would you have played up front then mate?

Didn't see the game. But what I know is that he failed to score and Moyes said after the game that he's not in very good condition.

Maybe he should play Beckford, or was that a massive mistake by him to recruit a player not good enough for this league? What about Silva who will play games for the reserves but disappear like everyone one else of that ilk?

So basically nobody. He has to play Yak doesn't he?

I would have thought that giiving the lad games is the only way for him to get back into condition

I suppose my point is that maybe Moyes doesn't need to tell the world that the Yak is out of condition, it sounded like he was making excuses for his performance, which according to the average layperson, was fairly decent.

Yak had a fine game. Much better than his normal standard of late. He remains our only striker who is capable of spinning round a defender with his back to goal(torres like) and creating space for himself. His run and anticipation is also good enough to start ahead of the other strikers.

All we need is to feed him. His best chance came from a through ball, it's a good indication of positioning and awareness from him. Sort our attacking variation and if we can give him 3 similar chances every game, he'll score.

I wouldn't even say it was necessarily fitness, more sharpness. He had a few chances, never disappeared, anticipated well, got into good positions - he just didn't score.

A few more games and I expect him to start belting them in again.

Well it's possible, not sure the whole unity is there anymore

How can you come on here writing him off then? If you didn't see the game then you're relying on us telling who what happened today mate.
