Why is everybody moaning so much these days. If true - whats the problem. Today we had no defensive cover at all- an injury to any of the back 4 would leave us up the creek. If campbell comes in he wont play but will be on the bench in case of a crisis

As long as he's only covering and not playing in front of Duffy, it's not too bad. I'd be annoyed if he was picked ahead of him though.

I understand what you're saying and it does slightly change my mind but, if you watch how much Scholes struggled getting back into the game on MOTD after 6 months out and training/coaching with their youth team, then you'd expect Campbell to be badly out of condition. He looks like he's prone to putting on weight at the best of times as well.

We do need to get someone in to be able to have on the bench until Jags or Distin are back but is 37 year old Campbell really gonna be up to it?

Guess thats what the trial tomorrow is to find out.

Alan Stubbs is 40. I know he retired because of a knee injury, but could he pull his boots back on in an emergency? If we're going for a 37 year old, what difference does a few more years make? I'd imagine that Distin will be back in a couple of weeks anyway.
