Made up with the public response to this, hoping it's opened peoples' eyes to the fact the US leadership as a gang of warmongers.

Still going strong. Glad we haven't got involved though,I don't think any of the warring factions are trustworthy and are morally retarded. Its the poor ordinary civilians that I feel for.

I'm sure we are involved behind the scenes - it's pretty much a proxy war between the west and the gulf on one side and russia and iran on the other. As you say it's the civilians suffering the most but politicians have never cared about that (unless it's in their interests to).

I'm not sure supporting a regime which wants everybody to abide by the rules of a ancient book is a good thing.

It is a scene of unimaginable desolation – a crowd of men, women and children stretching as far as the eye can see into the war-devastasted landscape of Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria. This was the queue for aid at a UNRWA distribution point in the capital, Damascus, on 31 January. The UN relief agency has distributed more than 7,000 food parcels in the Palestinian camp, home to about 160,000 people, since 18 January. The UN has reported infant malnutrition in the community, which has been reduced to eating animal feed. As of this week, all aid distributions have been suspended because of security concerns. Chris Gunness, a spokesperson, said UNRWA had received assurances that a deal allowing humanitarian access to Yarmouk would be implemented as soon as possible. He said: “They have suffered enough.”

I work for another UN food agency and the amount of time and resources that are going into figuring out how to get this country food is mental. The man hours involved in the whole process are crazy. It is counter productive to put people on the ground when safety and security concerns are so high. The big wigs are working out ways to get food in country without putting anyone else in danger. The amount of money and cost is insurmountable to feed everyone. Its an absolute tragedy.

You really feel for the people of this country. I cannot even begin to imagine what it is like.

It's good to see that we've (the west ) got such a good handle on our foreign policy . Assad is a viscous tyrant and we should bomb him and his infrastructure and support those against him but relatively months later we're launching air strikes against some of those against him.

No wonder we find ourselves mired in wars across the region when we seem so clueless . I'm no galloway fan but his comments about many of those opposing asad at the time were shouted down as 'typical george' and now he's basically been proven almost spot on .

It looks that way.

Even worse is the so called " Moderate " rebels in Syria have agreed a truce with ISIS apparently. Our policy in the middle east is crazy, we have always backed someone and they have been the good guys at first but they always turn out to be the bad guys in the end.
