Yes or no? Think they look ace myself, add to the atmosphere etc. Hearing a few got arrested at Spurs for setting some off as well, which is an obvious risk.

Just don't see how they add to "atmosphere". If you're near one you can't see the effin match, for starters. What's the point? To me it just screams "LOOK AT US!! PLEASE. LOOK AT US!"

I like them but understand the safety issue.

I went to Portugal vs Denmark in Euro 96 at Hillsborough. Say right near the Portuguese fans and they were setting them off every 10 minutes. Have to be honest, it was awesome!

Adds to the atmosphere I think they are great. Was at the match yesterday say one gettingnset off and that lad certainly didn't get nicked. The lids that refuse to sit down are probably the ones nicked.

Can see your point mate, can't see them lasting beyond this season either.

Don't get why people would want to risk getting banned from grounds for the sake of this.

It seems that suddenly there's a group of fans in most teams support who think they need to "out-fan" opposing fan groups.

ie "Club X fans stand at always, so we should". Or "they use flares so were gonna set off 20 smoke bombs when we equalize"

A couple went off early doors.
I was on the top balcony and looked over, load of scally lads in trackies and Stone Island setting them off. Didn't see any get nicked though, just a load of stewards and plod rooting around seats for the flares
Couldn't work out if they were being chucked or just set off and left on the floor

Looked ace though even if they did stink of eggs!

:)

I'm kind of torn on it. In that I love it (picture posted in match thread), but I also know that, for example, the Celtic Disabled Supporters Club asked the Green Brigade to pack it in, as they've got a number of members with respiratory issues. If its affecting them, then fair enough, logic would suggest that its likely to be similar with Everton supporters.

Worth making the distinction between flares and smoke bombs as well. Flares: Wee bit dangerous due to being, y'know something burning. Smoke bombs, in the main, are pretty safe.

I think it looks good in places like Italy etc, looks sh*t when one or two set off though.

But obviously its dangerous and for that reason I'm out.

I think if there going to legalise it then they will have to Make some sort of safe standing area in grounds . Make safe standing in grounds which allow flares to be set then everyone is happy . People who want to set them of will have an area where other people who don't like them won't be sitting

This, but it's never gonna happen
