Misread the title thread as Sin Cara, and was going to just say he's garbage, but it's obviously not about that, soooooo...

As you where...

I've had SLR cameras for over 30 years and my one bit of advice for you would be to spend more money on your lenses to get the best results.

If you buy a basic canon body and spend that extra on the lens you will be impressed more by the results and hopefully if you enjoy photography and buy additional lenses you can then upgrade the body of the camera to a better one with more features and all your lenses will be compatible.

This is the camera I've got, I think it was the second in the range at the time I bought it. £275 quid now and with the right lenses you'll take fantastic photos.

I'm a member of a photography club and regulalry win internal competitions against people with Camera bodies with 10 X more worthless functions (and price tag) than mine

My daughter paid a fortune for a Sony DSLR camera, which she hates. Personally I use a Canon bridge camera (SX30), because I don't use it for anything fancy. You get x30 zoom built in, and it's not as bulky as the full SLRs to lug around on holiday. Depends what you want to use it for I guess.

We've got a canon 350D pretty good, nice to have a digital camera that can catch dogs and kids before they dash out of shot
