Does anyone else struggle to sleep? Most nights I'm going to sleep about 10-11pm but wake up sometimes about 2-3am not being able to get back to sleep. Last night went sleep at 23.30 and again wide awake at 3. Feel like crap for the rest of the day.

Channel 4 did a programme about kids not sleeping properly last year and bbc the year before about adults I think. Google them for lots of guidance.

I don't struggle generally, but there are times where I get 4 hours here 4.5 there.

My biggest problem with sleep is that I can't sleep once I'm awake. Naps do not happen, even when I'm completely exhausted/tired and want to go back to sleep at 8am...my body clock has my up no later than 6:30 am, and even when I still need to sleep that clock says 'no way pal...you're up and alert'.

I envy the nap takers out there.

This is gonna sound weird, but roll with me.

Do you use your computer a lot before going to bed? If so, try this:

https://justgetflux.com/

It's a tiny program that adjust the coloring and brightness on your monitor depending on the position of the sun, so when the sun is down, your monitor emulates indoor lighting instead of the sun.

It solved my sleep issues over night. I was amazed.

Just downloaded it; fingers crossed. I have major sleep issues myself and I do usually watch 1-3 hours of TV on my laptop before bed. I have tried doing nothing for a few hours before bed but I find my mind races too much. Hopefully the science behind this roofies my brain.

I wake up 7-8 times in the 5-6 hours sleep i have,Feel like i never sleep, funny thing is the more i can sleep the more tired i am.

The simplest solution for me was turn turn off computers/tvs at least half an hour before going to bed and read a book/magazine/newspaper. It doesn't really matter what you read or what it's about but it definitely 'relaxes' my mind.

I love the band. "Holy Mountain" was a brilliant release and helped jump-start stoner-doom.

as far as sleep itself goes... well, yeah, have issues. it's 2am and listening to EFC highlights from the season. Neurosis keep me twisting, turning, and fretting the most trivial of items.

It was only since the industrial revolution that people started sleeping in blocks of 8 hours. Before that people would sleep and then get up in the middle of the night for a couple of hours and sleep again. That is the natural way to sleep.

I've always found listening to something chilled for half an hour with the light off helps! x

Sounds good.

The obvious alternative is not to use your computer before bed like.

Nice one. I'll try this out myself.

I don't have too much problem sleeping but occasionally I do.
