Yes definitely more than 2 minutes. It happens at 6:00 pm here so it is something I've come to get used to.
There must be something with the upgrade though. The backup process used to be about 5 minutes for full functionality. It is now 10-15 minutes for the New Posts feature to work...an oops message pops up. Will screenshot later for you.
You'd think so, and I wish it was. It would be a lot easier to sort!
The backup restores the data/database, that hasn't changed at all - it's the same database. So the backup last year, is the same as it will be tonight.
Unfortunately it's something fundamentally wrong with the server.

So I guess my evidence is supporting your theory that the server is the problem. The upgrade probably just accelerated that understanding for whatever reason @GrandOldTeam.

It's not too great now although tbf nowhere near as bad as a few nights ago, this is just very slow - the other night was slow motion, only so slow it was almost stop.

New Posts is still not working. 1 hour 40 minutes since the back up.
I've had a few instances recently where I've pressed post and nothing appears to happen, bar a thin blue line moving once under forum tab, but it has posted.
In fact, it happened with this very post and I feel that there's going to be a number of cases of duplications.

I also have the New Posts problem, plus publishing a new post when written is very slow and you have to check afterwards if it has published.

I tried to edit my post but the old server mocked my taste in trainers, added my name to a Free Tommy petition and signed me up for the MeetWomenWithInflatableBoobs dating site. I think the move may be long overdue...
