Sir Landon Of Donovan

I think due to his Twitter and outward love for what he was shown while at Goodison cemented the fact that if in England LD will be at Everton, End of Story.

Lets get Gatorade to pony up some cash for the transfer and get him to Goodison, only way this deal gets done.

Could you imagine Coleman at the Back and LD in front of him. That would scare anyone off from pushing forward on that side. Could help hide some defensive lapses that Coleman Might have the tendancy for.

Agree with this. LAG or EFC. Period.

Gatorade, Nike....all his sponsors should cough up a little to ship him across the pond.

LD also gives options. He can play LM (has for USMNT) so Moyes could leave Seamus at RM and get speed on both wings.

In terms of marketing alone, before you even get to the footballing aspect, it's criminal that this board didn't get him last summer. Another massive opportunity missed.

It's kinda comical, but Everton has been mentioned a ridonkulous amount of times again in the American soccer press the past week due to the Roma story. The consensus for LD at this point from the soccer in-the-knowers (the few that we have in the US): Everton or bust.

Landon has kinda vanished from twitter for awhile though - little odd.

He loves the blues either way, and I'ma throw this on here again just to make myself happy...

It's one of his shirts and it's like, double the size of my own. I AM SO DAMN SHORT!

But proof he's lovely.

Can't believe this thread is still going....He was never going to return....the reason he came to us in the first place was because of our fixture list and the world cup....yes he enjoyed it and proved himself at this level but he isn't and won't ever be contracted to everton, mainly because he doesn't want to be ENOUGH! If he really did want to be heren he would have stanmped his feet and came!

As an American who has watched Lando for years, I think him coming back is 50/50. Would he like to? I think so, but that Cali weather is very much in tune with his lifestyle. I think he's torn between the love he recieved at Goodison and helping to move the MLS forward. However his age is an issue too, because he is not getting any younger so he will have to make the move soon. Hope he works something out to get here.

Someone mentioned Micheal Bradley. MB is a DM with a good work ethic that will net some goals as well. He had a heck of a season in Holland a few years ago in terms of goals. I am not sure if he can play in the Prem, but it's not as though he has had many chances with Aston Villa. If we could get Bradley cheap then it might be worth a shot, he's young too but right now I think we have more pressing issues up front.

He just shot a Gatorade commercial yesterday which will air beginning in June, in which he is going to be featured wearing his USA jersey. It would be sweet if when Everton come to the States this summer for preseason, if they were to grab LD and he quickly makes a follow-up commercial wearing his Everton jersey. **sigh** Wishful thinking on my part.

Landon was great but he's now 29 and will cost $15 million or thereabouts with no sell on value so it's just fantasy to expect him back here. that being said i wouldn't care about how much he costs because he come with publicity, loves our club and is a quality player who'd make a big difference in our team, please let a miracle happen and bring him back.

Still on my wishlist. We need a replacement for Pienaar, Landon would be perfect. I say get the Yak fit, play him and truly give him a shot at getting back in the side. If the Yak could keep up his end of the bargain and play every match like the first Derby last season, it would go along way towards calming whatever rift develpoed between he and the gaffer. That would see our main two needs, addressed with one sigining. Oh if it were only that simple.

I love Landon. God how I wish he was here :(

Ditto, it would be worth selling Rodwell to get him and another player...he was great :/ and had such a good work rate

Still remember being at Tottenham and celebrating his sitter thinking it had gone in though :( was a horrible miss!
