Sir Landon Of Donovan

Is dread lock lad any good?

He looks better than Cobi Jones.

I like beckerman. He's sort of a nesta type player in that he plays just in front of the d but can pull the offensive strings from there. His club team is built around having beckerman there. And he's done very well in mls.

Kinsman likes him because hes comfortable on the ball. But he's never been great with the USA. It's not obvious why. Most assume he's just not good enough but he's very good for his club.

Would dread lock man be any good in a European League dya think?

My thought has been no on beckerman, especially for us.
Good, solid player, understands and can read and influence a game. Can do his work in mls, but not in epl. Older, slower, and finally just hitting his stride for his last years as a pro. Could be a player in some other European leagues, but at this point for him, he should just stay in mls and enjoy being an MVP candidate on a team built to suit his style.

Everton needs to lure Donovan away from LAG right now. It's now or never. Moyes needs to convince LAG to let Donovan go so they can sign another DP (Drogba).

He's the best D mid in MLS and plays for the best team in MLS. His only downfall is his speed.

Here is a pic from when Everton played the MLS All Stars in 2009.

increased value, increased interest from other clubs i guess..

I can think of several reasons
Pushes his price up
LAG might want to keep him
Might get other teams interested in him

1) He won't go anywhere else. It's either Everton, or he stays in LA.

2) His price will be the same. At his age, MLS will only get so much.

3) Landon can pretty much force the move as MLS will more than likely accomodate it's greatest star to date.

4) LA may want to keep him but again, Landon could probably make it happen. In addition, it will free up funds for AEG to go get another Designated Player.

Beckerman's a good player but I don't understand his inclusion.

He's not going to surplant Bradley, Jones, or Edu.

Completely agree, and will probably be gone the minute Holden is healthy and in form.

In all honesty, Beckerman is probably a championship level player.

I think with Beckerman it all depends on the system. If he's allowed to sit in front of the back line and just pick passes, he can do a job. He is limited, but his composure and ability to read the game could suit some lower level prem teams.
