Do you believe that our club is run to its full potential and that the owners are doing a 'good job' ? Because I have my doubts , i've said before i'm not as fervent as others but i'm not sure 'stagnation' is the answer. I just find it amazing that it seems nobody has any interest in buying the club that really surprises me , if he's serious about selling the club and its on the market and we haven't had a single offer then exactly the same as if your selling a house be it a hovel or a mansion if its not sold after 10 years whatever the price its too much in my opinion. Or do you think he'd only sell to someone who would be 'good for the club' ? Because I have trouble balancing that with nearly selling to a bloke that lives in a bedsit or wasn't that true , so effectively a lie ?

Thats a good question. With the resources (current squad) we have then yes. Im not so sure he is given as much as the board could possibly give financially tho and thats the problem we all have, we will never know what moneys being made behind the scenes. I want the same as every blue but Im happy to remain as we are for the time being if the alternatives 'doing a Leeds' or 'Portsmouth' thats all I was saying. Its difficult because I was only born 84 so some of my earliest memories of supporting Everton are relegation battles and that [Poor language removed] Peter Johnsons 'reign'. Ive loved every minute to be honest but the last 10 years have been more entertaining for me.

For me though there is a difference in our on field achievements and the way the club is run off the field . I think a lot of what we do is disjointed & chaotic . I only know bits how the transfer policy is run and it frankly ain't the best , the corporate side seems to lack thought , I worry about deals that prevent us profiting from various sales like the 'kitbag' deal , the selling and leasing back of FF doesn't make sense particularly financially frankly and what happened to our free development ?

I suspect the club behind the scenes is a mess. Im glad Pienaar's returned but for a club who need every pound possible that was very badly handled. We've basically squandered 1.5 million? And then theres the Dan Gosling fiasco, how embarrassing was that gentlemens agreement comment, its modern day footie ffs, football is a business!
The one that got me was the new development behind the park end. Why they want to build a cafe/office block instead of redeveloping the stand making it A. bigger in attendance and B. creating corporate space is baffling and the block image looked hideous, like a glorified shed.

That's what I meant mate , on the field we are pretty good but so much of it looks pretty awful . I've said a few times I thought Pienaar was a brilliant football move but the whole thing is a nitemare business deal. I've got issues with the board but I'm told by people who work as player representatives in the game that gosling and his agent were thought of to have been 'out of order' in that situation and took advantage of something that happens relatively regularly (although i suspect not any more) , the club were apparently viewed as 'naive ' at worse but they didn't believe they'd get 'turned over' . I also think the agent will suffer long term as his reputation didn't come out of it too well and That's from a pretty good source

Dan '****-house' Gosling! hope his agent does suffer as a result. I think we will definitely loose one more player before the window closes as a necessity to pay the bank. Probably deadline day.
Is it me or is deadline day just pre-scripted drama? Sky pay a team to keep quiet about announcing a signing till deadline day and make an entertaining program out of it.
Dempsey to Liverpool is a done deal but they wont say its done till deadline day

Just read a few posts on this thread not all. Here is my opinion, countless times at the start of last season well until January to be honest there were countless "supporters" not just Blue Union or any other "faction" including myself were not happy, and rightly so. We travel long distances, we pay a lot of money every year, if you have got a lad now that wants the shirt there is another fifty sobs. Anyway my point is this, if you go to the old lady and get entertained and the 11 players in the blue jersey have TRIED their best (not so many seemed to do that early last season) then it doesnt really matter who is sat in the owners seat. Yes it would be nice to go out and spend ludicrous amounts of coin on players and pay them £200k a week however it does have a worry factor to it, and the three questions on the lips of every Man City, Chelsea fan would be 1) What would happen if the owners did one and sold the Club? 2) Would someone else come in and bankroll the CLub like what they are used to? and C) If the then new owners didnt bankroll the CLub what would happen?

Personally, I dont want a billionaire that throws hundreds of millions at the Club with variant managers every season. Here is the plan I think and whether it could happen under Bill then who cares as long as we dont end up like Leeds Portsmouth etc

New ground 60k seater is ample
£50m transfer kitty preseason £25m in New year window this every season would keep things ticking over nicely
Moyes in charge, I have criticised him to the max for team selections negativity and bottling some big games however seeing what he could do with no debt and a bit of coin in his pocket would be interesting.

All of the above does not have to come from a Sheikh or Russian Billionaire, it could come from someone of Bill's stature provided he has the people that advise him properly unlike in previous years.

PS If, sorry when I win the Euros tonight the first things I would buy are Landon Donovan to wear Number 9 again and some decent tea bags for the kiosks at Goodison. If I dont get chance again enjoy the new season lids and hope to meet more of you soon.
