Just been to the gym, and now settling down to a long day full of football on telly, Deutschland 83, loads of Cadburys Mini Eggs, and this months Lonely Planet Traveller magazine (how apt!).

Sod all that romantic nonsense.

You sound like @Kurt

Don't get some posters apparent need to be in a relationship - been single for 20+ years and love it.
The idea of having to compromise to account for another person's feelings/needs is totally alien to me.
Embrace being a singleton and enjoy the freedom it brings say I.

You're my hero of the day.

I spent nine blissful stress free years single and living by myself.

Oh my days !

It does amaze me the amount of blokes i see in a supermarket buying up the over inflated roses and crap Teddy Bears to give to their partners on Valentines day. 1. you have 365 days a year to be romantic and loving and 2. who wants that crap anyway, surely even the women don't want them? If you feel obliged to purchase something, make it something they would like and want.

My wife and i just get the kiddies some bits from Jack Valentine, In 10 years of marriage i don't think we have even bought a card for each other.
