There's a fair few players in teams like Palace, Norwich etc that are too "clever" to be playing with the players around them. Look at Stan Petrov when he want to Villa, he didn't have the same impact, as the strikers he was playing with couldn't see the passes he was playing. Hoolahan, Bannan, Fer and Berba to name a few

Some rumours of Barry deal being made permanent to allow a further domestic loan. My best guess would be Rodwell or Lescott (to replace Heitinga).

Don't see the point of signing Rodwell back. He wasn't that good and he'll pull his hamstring about 20 minutes into his second game.

I wouldn't be opposed to having him back until the end of the season with a view to a permanent, as long as city contribute to his wages. If he could prove his fitness (unlikely, I know) and plays well then he could be an astute permanent signing in the summer, for around 5 million. I always liked him and he has bags of potential.
