watch mcarthy not rooney and you will see who instigates the shenanigans. if rooney had used his elbow the other lad would be dead now

I know he stepped into his path but the way rooney used his elbow and forearm is not acceptable doesnt matter who instigated it he reacted and therefore he should of been dealt with

Of course McCarthey goes to block him....so why did Rooney go and "react" to the block by lifting and forcing his elbow and forearm to McCarthey's head?

Oh and Fergie's admitted it - "Wayne Rooney is a bit fortunate - it was a clash and it was a silly thing to do, but it's finished now."

You cant defend it. You cant defend Gerrard's one either which was another inept Ref "I saw a clash and that was it, turned the other cheek, gave a foul" type incident.

PLEASE, He intentionally aimed for the players head whether it was with his elbow or forearm you can see in his body language he was not accidently bumping into the back/side of his head he looked before he did it so he knew what he was doing whether mccarthy was innocent does not matter its the fact rooney knew what mccarthy was doing and lashed out which is not acceptable(its the same with any player doesnt matter who they should not react like that)

football is an aggressive contact sport. when i saw rooney smash mcarthy on motd i thought the lad had lost the plot big time because it looked like rooney banged him one f`nowt. but after seeing it more and keeping my eye on mcarthy i could see why rooney did what he did. the boy is a winner and he is aggressive.also mcarthy is painted whiter than white in this incident but he was throwing his arm out at rooney to start with. but hey mate- lets agree to dis-agree

it seemed like the whole of the country were up in arms- i listened to some of the tripe on Talk Shoite and that Brazil fella was really up for getting rooney tarred and feathered and whipping up a mob to get him like the media do. stevie g must be laughing his little socks off coz he gets away with about 4 elbows and 7 or 8 two footed tackles a season and no-one says a peep

Which i think is why the FA needs to get some Balls and start using video evidence and punish players whether the ref has or has not seen it as this would make them think twice before doing it. As its not just stevie GBH or Shrek doing it and it frustrates me when they get away with it as thats not showing kids, the future stars, how to behave properly and how to conduct themselves on the pitch. But its not just that its also how the players can influence the refs by getting right in their face, they should take a look at rugby and learn from them you dont see rugby players doing that

we dont get any credit for the respect we show officials. them reds over the park give grief to the refs non-stop but never get carded, which never gets high-lighted by the pundit knobs- its publicity that can change things or at least get the ball rolling.
