Everton FC are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper but the Blues won’t swoop for Wigan Athletic’s Ali Al-Habsi this month.
First-choice shot-stopper Tim Howard is likely to be sidelined for another five weeks, with a calf injury meaning Roberto Martinez has just one senior keeper in his squad.
Joel Robles will start in goal against West Ham United on Tuesday night in Everton’s crunch FA Cup third round tie, although Martinez is looking to bolster his options in that position.
But the ECHO understands that Al Habsi, 33, is not under consideration despite reports linking the Blues with a loan move for the Oman international.
If he goes back to Wigan even for a pee as Everton Manager again he needs to be sacked on the spot!NOT IN THE MARKET FOR AL-HABSI!!!!

Realistically we could get Mannone for cheap. We don't need a world-beater in my opinion, just someone competent enough to put Howard under pressure. We can look to replace Howard in the summer, but I don't think that should be the priority in the short January window (especially with the glacial pace that our club does business).
When Mignolet was at Sunderland I rated him, and even though I knew he would never live up to that price tag I thought he would be decent for them, so I'm probably not the best authority on goal keepers. That episode does show that spending big on a keeper is risky, and I would be weary of breaking the bank on Begovic when we have huge holes in our squad that need to be filled immediately.
We need a first choice keeper now or we will keep losing points this season.
It could make a difference in prize money which oays for the signing itself.
I like the sound of karius.
