This poll is serious s***

There are 11 players on the pitch, each of which has a role in defense. If I remember correctly, the three goals at Newcastle were due primarily to errors by outfield players. Two were a direct result of errors by Barkley and McGeady, but can't remember who was responsible for the third.
Against Stoke there was the phantom penalty and at least two missed red cards.
Against Southampton, Naismith and Lukaku both made errors leading up to the first goal...
repeat ad infinitum...
Replacing the GK isn't the answer to the problem, it's the icing on the cake. Right now we've got a crap poor cake made with the wrong ingredients and a cook that closed his cookbook and has been suffering from amnesia. Scraping off the icing and putting on a fresh layer doesn't change the crap performances of the team.
For a team with limited funds and few options for immediate change, replacing Howard (or Robles) is one of the worst, most knee-jerk responses I've seen.
Get healthy
Get wide players
Find attacking players who know how to hold the ball and create attacking options
Field a defense (both players and system) that give the FBs freedom to attack
Play a system that gives your attacking players freedom to move, instead of working 3 or more 6-foot passes on the edge of the penalty area while 6 defenders stand in place awaiting the mistake
Fixing any of these (or all of these!) problems will lead to better defense and outcomes, but simply swapping the GKs does little to help the side, unless you're talking about someone on the level of Cech.
